Sometimes I like a snowy day. 

The world is quiet when it snows.

It seems gentler and softer. 

Everything seems to slow down.

Awash in silky white drifts, 

the trees and grass stand very still. 

 

A snowy day means outdoors fun.

You can ride a sleigh or skate.

Or have a snowball fight with friends.

Bundled up in coats and hats.

Warm mittens and extra socks.

 

Snowy days mean extra rest, too.

Wet mittens on heaters.

Mugs of hot cocoa.

And snuggle hugs.

 

A snowy day is like a present.

It's often a surprise.

Wrapped in shimmery gift wrap.

 

Even dogs like snowy days.

They jump in snow with great glee.
