On a chilly winter day, Turtle decided to call his friend Goat to invite her over.
“Let’s get together and have tea and cake this cold winter's day. Please come visit Goat, what do you say?”
Goat agreed this was a very good plan, so she put on her hat and coat and out the door she ran.
The winter wind whistled around her as she trudged through the snow. “Brr,” said Goat to herself, “The one thing I know is true for me, I am grateful for my best friend and will enjoy some hot tea.”
When Goat arrived, Turtle welcomed her in and hung up her coat, “I am so glad to see you, thank you so much for coming over, Goat!”
“Indeed,” Goat said, “I am glad to be here, even walking through the wind and snow. Our friendship is something I treasure, please know.”
The two friends sat at the table sharing strawberry cake and a warm pot of tea. They giggled, swapping stories, having so much fun. Is there anything more valuable than a dear friend found under the sun?
“Would you like more tea, Goat?” Turtle asked in between the laughter and smiles, I am so happy you came to visit me today for a while.”
Before long, the winter sun started to sink low in the sky. “I’m afraid that the time has come for me to say goodbye,” said Goat. “What a wonderful day, such fun we shared! You’re the bestest best friend I have,” Goat declared.
The day ended on a very happy note. The best of friends they are, Turtle and Goat. A true friend will visit you no matter the rain or snow, and they carry your heart with them wherever they go.
A bestest best friend will always invite you in to share cake and a cup of tea. For they love you for who you are, not who they think you should be.
