A New Year For Me and A New Year For You

Turtle and Goat sat together having some tea.

Turtle said, “A new year for me is a new year for you.

What will we be, can we begin anew?

I am not just wondering for me, but for you too.”

 

As Goat sipped her tea she answered,

“I agree. Will this be the year when we are

free to pursue all the dreams

we tried so hard to make true?”

 

As Turtle and Goat sipped their tea,

they each tried to imagine

the happiness and joys

that this new year could be.

 

Turtle finished his tea and said,

“A new year is a chance for each of us

to start over and renew.

To begin again, regardless of what we do.”

 

Goat nodded her head because she agreed,

“I am happy for you and happy for me.

A new year for us all,

how wonderful it will be!”

 

Like Turtle and Goat, let’s enjoy a good cup of tea

and review our last year and how much we grew.

Grateful for our shared friendships,

as Turtle and Goat are too.

no matter if you are like Turtle

and very small.

Or if you are like Goat and rather tall. 

 

A new year is the perfect time

for friendship and tea.

Especially for the best of friends,

like Goat and Turtle, or you and me.
